TRACE v0.1 — the specification

The canonical text of the TRACE specification is not published on this domain yet. Until it is, the definitions that carry weight are the six evidence levels and the four rules that govern them, which are written out in full on the evidence levels page. This URL is reserved so that the specification, when it lands, keeps a stable address that citations can point at.

What to read instead

  • The E-ladder — the six levels, what each one requires in the record, and the rules that decide when a value may be demoted.
  • The audit checklist — the framework applied to a tool, including ours.
  • Our own assessment — where we fail against it, named individually.

Why the canonical copy belongs here

A specification hosted only on a code forge gets indexed there, and every citation a model produces then links to the forge rather than to the project. Publishing the canonical version on this domain and having the repository link back to it is the whole reason this URL is being held open.
